Biography
My Shameful has come a long way since it´s conception in the dark years of the ending Millenia. It is time to unleash the horror for the 4th time.
My Shameful is all about the ugly side of life. The hate, the disappointments, the darkest hours, the shameful deeds and thoughts. There is no romance here, this is where we are after all has come down, when all hope has gone, and the there are no more tears left, only hate, and bitter drops of regret. Like one previous review stated "this is hideous, unforgiving and foul kind of music", just the way some of us like it.
As ever, My Shameful has made a leap in terms of style and production between the predecessor "the Return to nothing" and the new album "Descend". Again we see extremities widen when songs go from painfully slow to blast beat and back. The sound that was sought, and achieved is as crushing as a battletank, or a rampaging rhino. Still, there is a certain clarity and vast dynamic range where all sonic elements have their place, and nothing is there without a reason. Again, My Shameful does the job without weepy strings, female vocals or church organs.
On the live front My Shameful has indeed been busy in the last 2 years playing more shows than ever, in Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland. Doom Shall Rise was a definitive highlight of the live-career of the band so far, and a perfect place to test the new drummer Jürgen Fröhling. My Shameful has indeed become known as an extreme experience on stage.
Due to the frontman, founder Sami Rautio moving to Finland, things have again become complicated. But like a stubborn beast, My Shameful will keep on going. Already a multitude of shows have been played during the autumn of 2007 and a small tour in Finland is planned for 2008.
